One of the best VR games we’ve seen is all about lying to your friends

Have you ever played the party game Mafia (or its hairy twin sibling Werewolf)? If not, go read about them. We’ll wait.

The short version: A group of players sits in a circle. Each one is assigned a secret role, either mafia or civilian. Players argue back and forth about those identities, trying to root out the mafioso and kill that person, via votes cast at the end of each round.

There’s a bunch of different rule variations, but every iteration of Mafia is essentially about one thing: lying through your teeth and playing people — typically your close friends — against one another. Read more…
